PILATES ALLIANCE
AUSTRALASIA
The PAA was formed in 2002 and
brought together a diverse group of Pilates practitioners from various
training bodies.
The PAA is a body intent on
protecting integrity and standards in the industry and was formed by a
group of long term Pilates practitioners, instructors, studio owners
and educators in order to address the requirements of quality training
in an open approach environment.
The alliance is an independent
body addressing regulation within the industry. This means that
members are accepted from a wide variety of training approaches, and
quality is regulated according to meeting stringent criteria.
Therefore this is a regulatory body for everyone.
It provides a network for persons
adhering to the essential principles of the Pilates Method and high
standards of practice. That is, it is guided by a Code of Ethics,
which ensures ethical practices in studios and training
institutes. It is a not for profit body that seeks to build the
industry through non-bias guidelines.
A committee set criteria for codes
of practice and entry to membership from different training bodies
seeking an accord in recognition of quality in Pilates instruction and
training.
Levels of membership for
instructors are as follows: basic, Levels 1,2,3, Principal and
Trainer.
There are also categories for studio registration and educational
bodies. Please view
